Hi, 3 days 2 nights to visit Nikko & Kinugawa. Can I know if it is convenience to stay 2 nights at Kinugawa and visit Nikko 1 Day - Plan to visit Nikko first day and keep luggage at JR Station locker and check in at Kinugawa at 5 PM. 2 Day stay at Kinugawa to explore the area. 3 Day - check out from Kinugawa and Visit Nikko again before heading back to Chiba Do you think this is a good idea

It would be easier and cheaper if you used a pass and travel via Tobu Railways instead of JR: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2358_002.htmlThe All Nikko Pass will get you to Tobu Nikko station, where they also have luggage lockers, and then on to Kinagawa Onsen in the evening, plus transport while in the Nikko area and return to Tokyo.

Kinugawa Onsen itself is a really sad town.
This is a really good blog entry on it. (Not my blog) http://spikejapan.wordpress.com/2010/06/14/983/
Ryuokyo nearby is pretty if you like nature.

@ girltokyo: Thank you for that link. Believe it or not, I love the decay in Japan and Kinugawa Onsen looks like possibly the best example I have ever seen. I plan on going the next time I go to Japan.
