The fact you couldn't find info about mixed sex capsule hotels on google says a lot. It's been a while since I was last in Japan, but mixed sex capsule hotels are something I never came across. Someone with Japanese ability may be able to find one for you though. I think your best bet may be to look at alternatives. For example, there are lots of hostels that offer private rooms for 3-6 people and only cost 3000 yen a night. You can start here: http://www.sakura-hostel.co.jp/

Capsule hotels started out as something convenient for men crashing after drinking or after a late-night work - so it was originally used only by men, then later some places started adding "women-only floors" in their facilities. Note that since you only have space for really lying down to sleep and to sit up on the bedding, most guests would just walk about in the public area dressed in their nightgowns only, and for fire protection reasons you cannot lock the individual capsules - thus the concept of "men-only floors" and "women-only floors." From some internet searches (they are not my personal recommendations): This one is in Ebisu - they have capsules only for men, but within the same building they have single/twin rooms for women. http://www.viento-creation.com/index.htmlhttp://www.hotel-siesta.com/syashin.htmlIn Komagome, with women-only floors: http://www.rosco.co.jp/modules/cupsule/(You would need to call.)
