Type of transportation passes 2010/12/1 16:33
Even though I have read some articles on the basic transportation in Tokyo, I am still unclear about the type of passes most suitable for my trip. Appreciate if you could give me some suggestions. My relevant travel details are as follows:

Pax: 2 adults; 1 child (3 y/o)
No of days in Japan: 8 days
Arrival & departure: Tokyo Narita
Brief itinerary:
(a) Tokyo and its metropolitan prefecture such as shinjuku, shibuya, ginza, ueno etc;
(b) Mount Fuji (lake kawaguchi-ko)
(c) Tokyo Disneyland
Note: We would like to experience taking both shinkansen (green car) and bus to/from mount fuji from Tokyo.

Thank you for your advice.

Regards,
Michelle Ningxi

Use N'EX + Suica round trip ticket to/from Narita/Tokyo. Use the Suica Card to get around the Tokyo area, topping up the card when needed:

The Shinkansen doesn't go to Kawaguchiko, here are details of getting to/from the area:

Your child travels free if not using a seat that can be occupied by a fare paying customer.

For transportation in Tokyo, the Suica (+N'EX) is probably your best bet as noted above. Here are some more details on Tokyo transportation:
