Cheapest transport from Kobe to Mt. Fuji

I can't read Japanese (yet), so a lot of the websites make it difficult for me to determine best (cheapest) waqy to get from Kobe to Mt. Fuji over the Christmas Holiday??? Any/all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (i guess cheap lodging as well, if you know of any???)

The cheapest way is to take a discount overnight bus from Kobe to Tokyo and then take a train or bus from there to wherever around Mount Fuji you plan on going: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3554.htmlThere is also an overnight bus from Osaka to Kawaguchiko Station (if that is where you intend to go). The one way fare is 8500 yen and is probably more expensive than going via Tokyo.
