From Tokyo to Iga Ueno 2011/2/7 15:42
Hello,

question is simple. Can i use the Japan Rail pass to reach Iga Ueno?

I have to take JR Nara Line from Kyoto to Kizu and then JR Kansai Line to Iga-Ueno. And Iga Tetsudo Iga Line to Ueno-shi (5 minutes).

i found this on the guide, but they don't say if i can use the pass.

Thank you

Yes, you can use the pass on all JR trains (i.e. Tokaido Shinkansen, JR Nara Line, JR Kansai Line) up to Iga-Ueno Station. From there you will have to pay separately for the the short 5 min journey on the Iga Tetsudo Iga Line to Ueno-shi (250 yen).

As a rule of thumb, the shinkansen lines and other lines specified as JR (i.e. JR Nara Line) in this guide's access pages are fully covered by the japan rail pass unless otherwise specified.
