Hi,
I'm planning to visit Hokkaido for 8Days (around July 16-24 2011)

Main places to visit is Furano & Otaru.

I have a few questions :
1) Any highly recommend Flower Farm in Furano?
2) Is it easy to travel around using Public Transport or Self Drive is easier?
If driving, how is car rental work? We have Singapore license.
3) Any recommend places for hot spring & resort?
4) We would like to try some Hokkaido local Food? Or any must try food? Any recommendation??

I recommend Farm Tomita above all others (unless you are allergic to big crowds), followed by the other farms mentioned on the following pages:

To Furano? Asahikawa Airport is much closer to Furano than Sapporo.

If we self drive, are the parking rates & petrol cost at Hokkaido expensive ?

My friend and I are considering joing tour or free & easy.. road trip .. =)

Parking rates in the Furano area tend to be cheap or free. They are higher in the centers of larger city, though. Petrol cost are generally lower than in Europe but higher than in North America. Sorry, I don't know how it compares to Singapore.

From Sapporo drive to Shiretoko. How many days u think should b allocated there?

Tentatively my planned is as below :

Day 1 : Shin-Chitose Airport - Furnano
Day 2 : Furano
Day 3 : Biei
Day 4 : Biei - Asahikawa - Shiretoko
Day 5 : Shiretoko
Day 6 : Shiretoko - Daisetsuzan - Sapporo
Day 7 : Sapporo
Day 8 : Sapporo - Otaru - Sapporo
Day 9 (AM) : Sapporo - Lake Shikotsu - Shin-Chitose Airport

Any comment on my planned? Is it too rush??
Me & hubby will rent a car but only hubby driving.
