Worth 7 day JR Rail pass for my trip?

Hi All

I have planned for 7 days to Tokyo in April but I am not sure whether a 7 day JR pass is worthwhile for us.

Here is list of trips on train I think we will be making.

- Narita express to and from airport to shinjuku.
- Train to Odawara (This is a Hakone day trip) and back.
- Day trip to Jigokudani. Tokyo to Nagano (bullet train SHINKANSEN)
Nagano to Yudanaka (local train)
Yudanaka to Kanbayashi-Onsen (local bus) There and back.

Can anyone shred any opinions on whether the JR pass is worth it with the trips listed above? There are 2 of us, we do not plan to go to Kyoto or Osaka, mainly just day trips in and around Tokyo.

The nationwide rail pass will not pay off. But you might want to consider a JR East Pass:
