If I'm staying at Kyoto Royal Spa Hotel (near sanjo station & KYOTOSHIYAKUSHOMAE) what's the fast way to get to Enryakuji Temple using the Kansai Thru Pass? Is the entire travel route covered by Kansai thru pass or do I have to pay for the ropeway/cablecar & such? Thank you.

I looked at the Kyoto subway map and don't see how To Tozai Subway Train (Otsu-Hama bound) will get me to Sakamoto Cablecar? Can you please tell me exactly to do this? Also, is this cablecar scenic and is the temple spectacular during cherry blossom period?
Another question: which has nicer cherry blossom view Sanzenin/Ohara or Mount Hieizan?
Thank you.

I looked at the Kyoto subway map and don't see how To Tozai Subway Train (Otsu-Hama bound) will get me to Sakamoto Cablecar?Look at the following map instead: http://www.surutto.com/conts/ticket/3dayeng/images/en-map.pdfNote that some trains along the Tozai Line will run along the Keishin Line all the way to Hama-Otsu, where you will have to change to the Ishiyama-Sakamoto Line to the base station of the Sakamoto Cablecar. Also, is this cablecar scenicI remember the views from the cable car and the top station of the cable car onto Lake Biwa to be quite nice. and is the temple spectacular during cherry blossom period?I don't know. It does not usually come up as a particularly famous cherry blossoms pot. Another question: which has nicer cherry blossom view Sanzenin/Ohara or Mount Hieizan?I have not been to either during the cherry blossom, but I don't think that either place is too famous for cherry blossoms. Here is a list of the most popular spots around Kyoto: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3951.html
