Is the fall color season late this year?

I will be arriving in Osaka Nov 26 and traveling to Nagano, then the coast by train to Matsue and returning to Osaka by way of Okayama by Dec 3. I hope to see the fall colors. I've heard the fall colors, koyo, will be late this year. Since it must have started already up north, can anyone tell me how many weeks it is late so that I can try to plan accordingly? Thank you.

So far up in the north the colors are a few days, maybe a week behind their usual schedule. However, a longer cool phase could change this at any time. I think you won't be too wrong by roughly orienting yourself based on average periods, but maybe avoid visiting towards the beginning of the mentioned periods.
