Don't let your size dictate whether you go to Japan or not! There are many other things to do in Japan than shopping for clothes!

Just pack some of your own clothes to take along, you can wash them in your hotel if it has laundry facilities, or in a coin laundry. No need to buy your clothing while there!

I'm a 14/16 US size. I always do well at supure/covely (ikebukuro and nakano) and shimamura. Also nissen has bigger clothes (online) http://www.nissen.co.jp/and ABAB has 2 cheap plus sized stores in them http://www.ababakafudado.co.jp/ueno.htmlSometimes uniqlo and gu have things that fit. I can also ocassionally find stuff at western stores like h&m, and if I really look even in regular stores like 109. Sometimes you can find a bigger shirt, or a stretchy skirt. But its usually just luck and if I need something specific I go to one of the plus stores. I've even bought jeans at abab and covely.
