Can I follow the traditional path from Hagurosan to Yudonosan in May?
I read that the Temple on Gassan is inaccessible from late September through June. I do not plan on entering any temples, I simply would like to continue the path down to Yudonosan. Is that possible? If not, are there any other routes from Gassan to Yudonosan?
Thanks in advance!!

No. The route leads via Gassan, however, there is still lots of snow on Gassan in May. Therefore, it is impossible.

By bus via Tsuruoka or by car. Theoretically you could also walk it, but it over 50 kilometers.
