Shoshazan Ropeway 2012/5/7 15:03
RE the "Shoshazan Ropeway" Combination Ticket:

Is it possible to use this ticket to get off atHimeji Castle, AND then to go on to Shoshazan?
Or is it lilke the Koyasan pass where you can't get off at any intermediate point.

Many thanks!

No intermediate stop is possible with the combined tickets.
Your best pick would be to walk to Himeji and then get on the bus at the stop near the castle to get to the ropeway (although i'm not even sure you can get on there with the combined tickets : bestest idea would be to get the bus at the bus terminal near the JR station ; it's a ~10 mins walk anyway)

FrenchDude is right. It's best to go to Himeji Castle and then walk back to the bus terminal in front of the station to buy the combination ticket and board the bus. The Shoshazan Bus boards from within the bus terminal so it's very convenient.

The tourist infomation is located at the Himeji station building, so you can ask if you can board the bus at the bus stop near Himeji castle.

How about going to Mount Shosha first and on the way back get off at the castle instead of the station. I think it is possible, however, you could not use the ticket anymore from the castle back to the station. But that is only a 15 minute walk anyways.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. Very helpful indeed.
Excellent idea Uji, as always.
Looking forward to it: just found out we have a family connection to the cast in The Last Samurai, so need to see Engyoji, definitely.
Thanks again.
