Traffic in Kyoto during the Ghost Festival

My friend and I want to visit Kyoto during Aug 15-17 and may watch the fire cermemony at night near the suburb of Kyoto. But we're afraid there'll be heavy traffic and will be difficult to get a public bus. Do you know anything about that?

It will be very crowded at the festival but there is no need to worry about not being able to get the public transportation, as there are frequent service. Kyoto hosts thousands of tourists every day.

I'm sure you'll be able to get a bus just fine, but it might be wise to build a little extra time into your itinerary to allow for extra waiting or delays due to traffic jams if the roads are busy.
