How to get to Shin-Hotaka Ropeway

Hey,
We plan to travel to japan on October.
Our plan is to start at tokyo, and then move to Takayama for about 4 days.
We really want to visit the Ropeway near the japanese alps, but could not found any transportation (bus or train).
The info in the Japan Guide article haven't helped us.
We need to get to the ropeway from Takayama Station, Anyone knows how to get there by bus or train?
