Asahikawa winter festival 2013

I know that the festival is scheduled for Feb. 6-11, 2013. Does anybody know if the snow sculptures are normally being demolished the day after the festival?. Unfortunately I'm not able to visit during the festival period but I'll be in Asahikawa on Feb. 12th and would really like to see the big sculpture by the river and (hopefully) some of the smaller ones.
