Advice on trip to Tokyo, Japan. 2012/10/11 15:38
May 2013 will be heading for Tokyo and places of interest (Still surfing to see where better to visit since its only 9 days break). Not looking at Temples or Gardens or Historic places or normal shopping but rather interested in unique features of Japan eg: Cosplay gatherings, IT City -where Robotic stuff are display and experience, messed number of people crossing the streets!!! and the usual Universal Studio and so on.

With those number of days traveling, what would be my best option of days be where I should be experiencing the best of Japan starting from Tokyo. Mode of transport too.

Hotels that are walking distance to these places plus food areas...please. Aything for 10,00 yen?

There is no Universal Studios in Tokyo, and it's not what anyone would call "a unique feature of Japan", since the Osaka Universal Studios are, as I understand it, mostly a copy of the one in the US.

Thanks Sandy. Planning anyway, to skip 2 days in Tokyo and off to Osaka to be at Universal. I think the biggest problem (hopefully not) would be my language barrier. Traveling alone and not knowing Japanese language..mmm...mmm. At least now I have the internet to help out in my travel but still I need to know from locals or someone who has been there to advice the best direction to take.

I believe you should read the "Travel" section of THIS website carefully to see where you want to go in Japan. Traveling in Japan without knowledge of the language is no problem (for most, at least), and if you plan well you can get by just fine. When you put together a rough itinerary based on where/what you want to see, people here (both locals and regular travelers to Japan) can help you with tweaking the itinerary and making transportation suggestions :)

Roppongi in the Central area
oDaiba in the South/Bay area
...and DisneyLand/Sea in the far-east and Yokohama in the far-west?
