Thanks William !
What about other places in Kyushu like Nagasaki, Kumamoto and Kagoshima ? Any recommended autumn foliage viewing spots ? (can't seem to find any information on autumn foliage in Kyushu in this site)
I am not sure if I will be too late for autumn foliage; will be visiting those places at the end of Nov until 12 Dec.

Inside Fukuoka City itself there is not much. But a few places are the Aburayama Shimin-no-Mori in the mountains (a bit hard to reach by bus though), as well as a former villa, Yusentei, and in the Fukuoka Botanical Garden in Minami-Koen. You can see a lot more info on http://www.tinyurl.com/see-fukuokaDazaifu has a few places as well, like Kamado Jinja, Dazaifu Tenmangu, and Komyo Zenji. But by far one of the very best places is in Amagi City, called Akitsuki, so much that it's called a "little Kyoto". There is also the remains of a smaller castle there. You can see some wonderful footage of it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0-YxwfD340
