We will plan to go to Japan for the first time, going to Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. I don't really need JR Pass, since I want to go on JR train only from Kyoto to Tokyo (one way), and wants Nozomi train. Can I buy JR tickets on the JR Station? Or any kiosk that sell train tickets? Thanks for your info....

Long-distance JR tickets can be purchased at the manned ticket counters or at dedicated ticket machines that can handle long-distance tickets.
Short-distance JR tickets should be purchased at ticket machines. Prepaid cards are also available at ticket machines. The special Icoca&Haruka package, though, has to be purchased at the manned counter.

Thanks for your info, Uji. We brought medium luggage, will it be enough space in the train?
