New year's eve in Tokyo 2012/12/5 10:32
Hi all,

I and my friends have a plan to spend this upcoming new year's eve in Tokyo. Firstly, we want to go to Tokyo Skytree to watch fireworks... But until now, we can not find this kind of event will be held or not in Tokyo Skytree. We are pretty sure that last year, there is an event in this place to welcome the new year.

Another question is whether Tokyo Skytree will be open or not in December 31? Because we plan to go to its observation deck.

If there is no event in Tokyo Skytree, do you guys have any other option to spend the new year's eve? I also heard that new year's eve countdown at Zojoji temple has been discontinued.

Thank you guys for your help.

Fireworks are not normally a part of New Year in Japan. That's a summer time activity.

A visit to a temple or shrine with your family is normally the case.
