How do you go kawachi fuji garden? 2013/1/31 17:51
I've found some stunning pictures of wisteria in a botanical garden, rumored to be in Kitakyushu. But searches of the garden's name, "Kawachi Fuji Garden" have turned up nothing on tourist information sites, only more hits of blogs all copying each other and referring to the same pictures of wisteria.

I come from hiroshima, how do you go kawachi fuji garden?

Looks like its indeed in Kitakyushu. The blossoms are in bloom from late april to mid may. Here's the official city page and a map of the location:

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=%E6%B2%B3%E5%86%85%E8%97%A4%E5%9C%92&hl...

Also it seems the bus has been discontinued so the best way would probably be to train to Kitakyushu and then rent a car or take a taxi from the nearest station.

I just posted this on this tripadvisor forum http://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowTopic-g303160-i7635-k5112491-o20-Kawachi... , but thought I should post here too:

"Hi! I thought I would reply since I was frantically looking for information regarding the Kawachi Fuji Garden a few days ago, and hope to be of some help.

First - Yes! This place exists and it's very beautiful!

I was just there yesterday, and it was simply breathtaking!

Also, it wasn't as crowded as I was expecting, even though it was Golden Week!

Second- There seems to be only 2 options for getting there. First, you need to get to Yahata Station in Kitakyushu. After that, there is a free shuttle (once an hour, except at 2pm) that operates between the station and Ajisei no yu Onsen: 河内温泉「あじさいの湯 . This shuttle is only supposed to be used for visitors to the onsen...but, this really is the most convenient option. And the one that I opted for, since I was traveling solo (so, hopefully not taking up too much room in their van!). Anyway, the garden is, literally, a 2-minute walk up the road from the onsen. So, really close!

The second option is a taxi from Yahata station to the gardens, which might take about 20 minutes. But the taxis are quite expensive in Japan!

Anyway, it helps to do lots of research and to be able to read a little kanji. But, I completely recommend this place! It was everything I was expecting!"
