My first trip to Japan

Oct 13 : Visit Tokyo, leave for Kawaguchi and stay for the night there
Oct 14 : Admire Mt Fuji and leave for Kyoto in the evening
Oct 15: Waking up in Hakone, leave for Kyoto in the evening

Its it pretty good I think! The only issue I think is maybe the long train ride from Kawaguchi to Kyoto. There is a few ways you could do, either train back to Tokyo and then Shinkansen to Kyoto or you can also take a bus to Odawara Station and then Shinkansen to Kyoto.

1723 would be the last possible train from Kawaguchiko Station and after all connections arriving in Kyoto 2301

My only suggestion to this is you can do a day trip from Tokyo. Just start early and you can still have about 8-9 hours or the other way is to go in the early morning, admire Mt Fuji and area, stay overnight and then the next day slowly make your way to Odawara Station and then Shinkansen to Kyoto. This way it won't feel rush and then it also wont seem like long trains. Something like that!

You are right, Kawaguchi to Kyoto seems very long now that I look at it. (And quite complicated !)

Since I have a bit more time than planned (I have to be back in tokyo only on the 23rd) I could add a stop between Kawaguchiko and Kyoto at Nagoya ?

You could add Nagoya but there isn't much to do at your time frame. Nagoya does have the best Winter Illumination I have ever seen! I seen it last year but it doesn't start until November.

Lol yes, I have been in Japan 3 times already with one of them being a long stay. You can click on my name and check out all the locations I have been to. There are some more that are not on there because its not tourist enough I guess lol.
