Coffee places open early

Even here on the Gold Coast it can be hard to get a decent coffee. My fave is a double shot cappuccino in a small cup with one sugar (try explaining that in Japan). I had one the other day at my usual place that was just perfect, the coffee was sweet and intensely rich but not burned, the froth tasted like meringue. My mouth is watering thinking of it....

I would like to know if there are any cafe towns in Japan? Like, where is a small town with an abundance of cafes open late and all within walking distance?

Karuizawa comes to mind. I cant vouch for the coffee (sick of disappointment in Japan, so I rarely buy it), but the pastries and other treats are fantastic
