Meaning of Ga

1. わたしはスポーツがきらいですから、ぜんぜんしません。 2. わたしはスポーツがきらいですが、ときどきテレビでみます。
I know から (first sentence) means ''because'', but what does が (2nd sentence) means? What is the 2nd sentence trying to express?

I don't get it the first link; it's so complicated. But the second reply makes sense! Arigatou gozaimasu!!

Sumomoのリンクにも書いてあったのですが。 Although Sumomo's link said also.
Phrases: conjunction Inu wa suki da ga, neko wa kirai da. 犬は好きだが、猫は嫌いだ。 I like dogs but I hate cats.

You said the link was too complicated but accepted the simplified definition of "ga" as "but". That is fine for this time as it applies to this context, but you may want to study up on the other meanings in the link as in the future this will trip you up that "ga" means "but" - "ga" is a particle that takes the meaning of whatever is around it.

Ajapaneseboy, thanks for the further explanation. So do you mean this ga means although too? I'm confused.
Guest, I know ga has many meanings and one is to emphasize on something. Eg. Watashi wa anata ga daisuki desu. Means I emphasize that I love you.
But for now, I just want to know the meaning of ga in the above sentence.

The sentence 2. you mentioned first can be written in English as: - I dislike sports, but I sometimes watch sports on TV. or - Although I dislike sports, I sometimes watch sports on TV.
In that sense, it can be "but" and "although." Note where the word "ga" goes. The word (or phrase) order is different from that of English :)

Oh, I'm sorry to be confused. I thought it can be translated like this too, but I'm afraid it's funny because of my poor English? わたしはスポーツがきらいですが、ときどきテレビでみます。 Although I dislike sports, I sometimes watch them on TV.

わたしは忙しいですが、いつも映画をみます。
文法的には正しいですが、意味が少し不明瞭だと思います。 This sentence is grammatically correct but the meaning is a bit obscure, I think.
