How can I say the following statement in Japanese:
Yamada-san asked/told me to ask you if I can leave work to home early today.
I believe I can learn more off the tough sentences.
Thank you for your time!

- Kyou soutai shite mo ii ka dou ka, anata ni kiku you ni, Yamada-san ni iwaremashita. (I was told by Yamada-san to ask you...)
soutai suru/shimasu = to leave school/work early to go home
In real work environment, I would not use the word "anata" (you) but put the person's name + san or title instead. Also, in real work environment, if that person is the boss, I would not use the verb "kiku/kikimasu" (to ask) but use some other words like "ukagau/ukagaimasu" (to ask "humbly towards a senior).
I don't know how advanced you are, so starting you off using simpler verbs.
