Where to buy Japanese old movies in dvd?

I have a great passion for Japanese classic movies made during the 50s, 60s and 70s. Where can I watch or buy them ? I think there are not much new release except those by the well know directors. Is there any 2nd hand shop that sell used dvds of such kind ? Is there a film archive center ? Any film club ?
I will go out of my way for it, anywhere in Japan, even if just to see the covers or talk to someone about old Japanese movies.
