Ghibli movie real locations in Japan

Good day! I am a die hard fan of the Ghiblie movies and I guess there must be some real world locations from the movies in Japan (I know there are places outside of Japan too but that does not interest me).
Could someone help me point out locations? Is the Spirited Away bathhouse for real for instance? Can I visit Totoro's house? Etc..

Yes, most of those settings were inspired by real locations. I have been to half a dozen bath houses that claim they were the inspiration to the bathhouse of Spirited Away. And it is plausible that multiple locations served as inspiration. Personally I think that the Honkan at Dogo Onsen comes closest to it: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5502.html

In the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Director Miyazaki seems to have been sketched. (I heard towards the commentary volunteer in Korekiyo Takahashi's House) Medicine shop in this as well, seems to be used in the movie. http://www.tatemonoen.jp/english/index.htmlDogo Onsen, I also recommend. In addition, if there is Tsurumakionsen in town where I live, towards the cousin of Director Miyazaki has been owned inn that Jinya in it. Maybe, there also has become the location for the film. http://www.jinya-ryokan.jp/

Tomonoura is said to be the inspiration for Ponyo after Miyazaki stayed there. We visited Tomo last spring and it was a very pretty fishing village but a little run down in places. You can see similarities with the town depicted in Ponyo. Not many tourists visit Tomonoura as you have to take a bus to get there. We took a bus from Fukuyama city and it took approx 40 minutes each way and cost about 850 yen each. There are a few Ponyo touristy things around the town and in some shops but it is mainly undisturbed. You can also take a small boat across to different islands nearby which have nice walking trails. Here is the Wikipedia article about Tomonoura: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomonoura

When we were in Yudanaka (the hot spring monkey town) the guide said the red bridge from spirited away was based on the one in town , id say it looks exactly the same.
