1970s (1960s?) cartoon set in Japan 2014/2/14 02:36
When I was 5 or 6 years old (early 1970s) I remember watching a cartoon in the USA set near Mt. Fuji. I don't remember much else about it except that at the end a female voice said "sayonara". Does anyone know what cartoon I'm trying to find?

I don't think Japanese anime was exported to America in the early '70s.
I assume that was probably made in America by American animeters.

I'm not sure if it was a Japanese export or not, but I also watched Speed Racer around the same time period, and it was a Japanese export. In fact, if I remember correctly, I would watched consecutively on San Francisco Bay Area TV in the early 1970s: Speed Racer, then the show set near Mt. Fuji whose name I'm trying to find, and then Underdog.

Hi,
I'm not sure, but Speed Racer you mentioned about is "Arrow Emblem Grand Prix no Taka."
(Taka=Hawk in Japanese)

I'm not looking for Speed Racer. I'm looking for the name of the other series set near Mt. Fuji. I can't even remember if the characters are people. They may be mice? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Umm...
It's a long shot in the dark, but I guess it's "Yatta-man"?

I don't know anything about cartoons in the USA though.

That isn't it, but thanks for trying.

I figured it out just now. I was looking for 橋本マウス.

Now that the OP has answered his own question, I only need to point out that Speed Racer was actually "Mahha Go!Go!Go!"

Prince Planet & Marine Boy were exported from Japan in the mid 1960s.

So was Gigantor. The story was completely changed, making no references to WWII, though.

this is an anime database. You can search animes here. If you can remember the genre you can narrow down the number of animes you search and also you can put animes in an order by their release date . But if it is a cartoon you will not be able to find it here.
