Is it worth anything

I've been give a very large vase or pot. It has very detailed paintings on it. May be hand painted, Chinese or Japanese. I am using it as decor for my house because it's so beautiful. Out of curiosity I wanted to know it's origin and it's worth.

It would be helpful to post some pictures.

Be sure to include the bottom of the vase to show any markings. Also something in the photos to show size or relative scale.

Any history that you know of, as in who obtained it originally and when it was purchased.

Asian ceramics can be very tricky, but, lets try, and see !
