Where can I find cheap health food 2014/10/24 09:17
Trying to find some place where I can find cheap health or organic food in Tokyo. Any ideas? Not interested in paying more than double the price of back home!

You'll probably find the best prices for organic vegetables, fruit and other products at Costco.

But as the anonymous poster above says, local supermarkets are a good place to start. Learn how to read the kanji for "organically produced" and in general look for ingredients produced in Japan.

The Coop can be a typical and fairly reliable place you can find them in very reasonable prices. Do you live in Tokyo? And do you cook by yourself? Or are you looking for ready-made food?

By the way, here are some language tips:

For vegetables:

オーガニック organic
有機 organic
無農薬 no agricultural chemicals used

For fish:

養殖 farm-raised
天然 wild
