Would you like some help?

This is a difficult one to find a translation for, since there are two ways of saying "Help." Could someone please tell me a polite way to ask someone if they'd like some help? For example carrying luggage or struggling with a door?

- Tetsudai mashou ka? (Shall I help/assist?) - O-tetsudai shimashou ka? (A bit more polite version of the above.)
The verb is "tetsudau/tetsudaimasu," meaning to lend assistance.

If you're talking about "tasukeru" and "tetsudau", your question is definately not about a tasukeru situation. It's easy.

Thanks guys!
Yeah, translation places always translate help as "Tasukete" which I know is more like "Save me!"
