It's a pretty old model, and looks like it may not have been released in Japan. Are you in the UK? Most online retailers, if they still have stock, seem to located there.

It very well may be the latest model as it appears that Toshiba hasn't been putting out new camcorders in quite some time. The latest models that they advertise on their site seem to be from 2012.

Does it have to be a Toshiba? There are lots of companies putting out more current pistol grip style camcorders.

Thought you'd like to know that I found the Toshiba Camileo S40 I was trying to buy in England through Electech Stores. They were very helpful and the camera arrived within a few days.
