Tokyo Itinerary Recommendation 2015/2/10 18:36
I will be in Tokyo Japan on April 3-10 together with my husband and 8 year old daughter. We will stay in Rainbow Hotel near Ueno (is this a good hotel?)
Best but cheap places to eat near the hotel also attractions near the hotel.

Can you recommend itinerary for our stay as it is my first time and i prefer areas that is not hard to travel using the train system (do i need to buy a 7 day pass, is it cheaper? where to buy the pass?)

Target places to visit:
Disney Sea (do i need to visit this if i already visit Disneyland)
Disneyland during Easter Sunday (is it worth it)
Sanrio Puroland
Mt Fuji (how to get cheap tours on this)
Imperial Palace (Free English Tour?)

Other recommendations please, and which should go together in a day. Do you have Outlet Markets/Cheap signature shops, where?

Thanks sorry if i have a lot of questions :-)

Hi.
I think the location of rainbow hotel is good.

near the hotel, there are many restaurants like fast food,SUSHI,japanese food.you can eat anything.I reccomend you to try japanese fast food,YOSHINOYA,MATSUYA etc.it is very cheap.

At the ueno park ,almost next to the hotel, there are zoo and some museums. At the zoo,Panda is very popular.
And early April, may be you can see blooming of cherry blossom.Ueno park is one of a best place to see cherry blossom blooming in TOKYO.

Have a nice trip.

Hi Shanaiah,

Hotel looks good and Ueno is a great area. I stayed in Ueno last time I was in Japan, good location.

Disney Sea (do i need to visit this if i already visit Disneyland)
If you liked Disneyland or your 8 year old likes Disneyland, than YES it is worth the visit. DisneySea is a great and fun experience (rides and shows we do not have over in the States). Stop by the gift shops too, they are far better than the US Disneyland. Make sure to check out the shows (even janitors preform at DisneySea).

Disneyland during Easter Sunday (is it worth it)
Hmmmm, I did not go to Tokyo Disneyland. All the same rides and shows that are in Disneyland are in Disneyland Tokyo so I did not feel it was worth it. Once again, your choice and I didn't go since I had just been to Disneyland. Its still Tokyo Disneyland, so if you like Disney, its a good bet. Plus cheaper than California's Disneyland. The Japanese are not Christian, so Easter should not be bigger than normal crowds, but Sundays are PACKED at Tokyo Disney.

Did you look into going to the Ghibli Museum located in Mitaka, just outside of central Tokyo, the museum is a must-see and great for kids. Ghibli also has a delicious cafe on site for lunch or just a snack. Worth the wait if there is a line. You can get tickets before you leave or while you are there (just not same day).

Should check out the 350 yen shops, they have cute things for just the right price.

Hope this helps.

Wow, where you’re staying is good location. Close to Major train stations (Ueno Station)
Attractions near hotel or few train stations away:
Tokyo Sky Tree http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3064.html
Asakusa, Sensoji Temple http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3004.html http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3001.html
Akihabara http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3003.html
Tokyo Station City (shopping at Tokyo Station underground)
Ginza http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3005.html
Shibuya http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3011.html
Harajuku http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3006.html 100yen Daiso shop located here

If you’re mainly staying in Tokyo and area then no you do not need a 7 day rail pass. Just get a Suica load card or Pasmo load card (per person) for your train travels.

DisneySea is awesome and you should go to DisneySea but if you have not gone to a Disneyland before then you should go to Disneyland.

Mt Fuji Tour: http://www.japanican.com/en/special/tours/mt_fuji/index.aspx?aff=GMT

You can’t go to the Imperial Palace itself but you could do this Free Walking Tour Imperial Gardens: https://tokyofwt.wordpress.com/ https://www.facebook.com/TokyoFWT every sat

Suggested Itinerary:
Apr 3 Fri – Arrive in Tokyo, make your way to hotel, rest of day free
Apr 4 Sat – Tokyo Free Walking Tour 1pm-3pm, Asakusa Sensoji Temple Afternoon, Tokyo SkyTree night
Apr 5 Sun- Tokyo Station City, Ginza, Akihabara
Apr 6 Mon – Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku
Apr 7 Tues – Mt Fuji Tour or you could go by your self
Apr 8 Wed – Sanrio Puroland
Apr 9 Thur – DisneySea or Disneyland
Apr 10 Fri – Depart Tokyo

Doesn't have to be like above but I guess only the free walking tour is only that Sat.

Hope this help!!!

Have fun!!!
