Kawaguchiko or an escorted tour from Tokyo 2015/2/17 05:36
Hi
I am travelling with my elderly mother and wish to visit Mt Fuji to see the Cherry Blossoms, the Mountain and the Shibazakura Festival. We will be travelling by train from Kyoto to Tokyo.
Would we be able to see all of these things on a tour from Tokyo or do we need to stay in Kawaguchicko?

Your can take this tour http://www.japanican.com/en/special/tours/sakura/fuji.aspx#nav

Or if you have time, you could train to Kawaguchi and also overnight at Kawauguchiko area and rent a car.

The driving I though around Lake Kawaguchiko is easy and nice drive. The only issue was finding parking at (in my case at the time) Autumn festival I went to back in Nov 2014. Other wise it was good and most parking was free in the area.

Hope this helps!!!

Have Fun!!!
