December trip to Japan

Hey hi...

I have a rough plan in December 2015, go through the 3 main city, osaka, kyoto and tokyo But being highlights by some frequentfrequencyt traveller that I should spent my 1st experience of winter in hokaido rather than kyoto + osaka, so that I can enjoy the most at hokaido mainly due to my travelling period is winter.

Hence, wanted to check of any suggestions of the above for my further consideration.

Assuming you enter and leave Japan through Tokyo, the following would be a highly effective route:

Tokyo - (train) - Kyoto - (train) - Osaka - (air) - Hokkaido - (air) - Tokyo

tentatively I will touch down osaka at first and travel along to kyoto and end at tokyo, so that I fly back.

Just wondering if you have any comments that, will it be not suitable for me to go kyoto + osaka during winter? Many thanks, elycia

Then the perfect itinerary is: Osaka/Kyoto - (air) - Hokkaido - (air) - Tokyo

Kyoto and Osaka are enjoyable at any time of the year.
