Road condition from Nagoya to Takayama

We will be driving from Nagoya to Takayama on March 7. Please advise the road condition now? Is it safe driving with the normal tyres? We just stay there for 1 night and return on March 8. Will there be any traffic during this season or on Sunday. We need to rush to airport by 2pm.
