Nearest snow resort from Namba & Kyoto

Hello! We are travelling to Osaka this coming December for 12 nights. We are a family of 5 with children 19, 13 & 10 years old children at the time of travel. Kindly advise the nearest snow resort from Namba or Kyoto. Is it Gifu? Dynaland? How do we get there by train? For reference, we plan to stay 2 nights in the snow resort, 6 nights in namba and 4 nights in kyoto. Also, do you think that using a JR Pass is recommendable in travelling around Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and whatever snow resort is recommended?
