Current weather in Osaka & Kyoto

Hi guys,
I will be heading to Osaka & Kyoto next week, end of March 2015. As I have not travelled to Japan during this period, I do not know what to expect or bring. Would thermal wear & thick jackets be required? I'm from Singapore :)

My friend told me to bring a light down jacket so I figure it won't be that warm

It's not winter any more, but you will want a warm jacket. I think a down jacket would be overkill, but I suppose I'm from Canada so my tolerance could be a little different. Either way, I would choose a light jacket and layering your clothes underneath to suit your environment. That way you can take a layer off if you are inside or out in the sun, and put it back on if the day gets windy and cloudy.

the weather can change a lot at this time of year.
e.g.
Yesterday Max 21.4 degrees, Min 11.0
Forecast for next Tuesday, Max 11, Min 3
