Which pass is most suitable for my itinerary 2015/3/18 18:10
Hi
Kindly look at my itinerary and advise which passes are most suitable?

8/4 Fukuoka to Hiroshima
9/4 Hiroshima/Miyajima Island
10/4 Hiroshima to Osaka
11/4 Osaka to Yoshino (Understand need to pay extra from Yoshino-guchi to Yoshino by Kintetsu
12/4 Osaka/Nara
13/4 Osaka Universal Studio
14/4 Osaka to Yufuin (hopefully can get seats on Yufuin No Mori)
15/4 Yufuin to Beppu by Bus?
16/4 Beppu to Kurokawa by Bus?
17/4 Kurokawa to Kumamoto by Bus?
18/4 Kumamoto to Nagasaki
19/4 Nagasaki to Kurume
20/4 Kurume to Fukuoka
21/4 Fukuoka

Question 1 : Should I buy a 7D JR pass or can i save some money and buy a 7D Sanyo Sanin Area Pass?
Exactly on the 7th day (14/4) I need to travel from Hakata to Yufuin (By Yufuin No Mori). I understand the JR pass covers this sector but does the JR Sanyo Sanin covers this sector too? I dun mind paying a little top up just for this one way.
Question 2 : Should I buy a 3 days bus pass to cover Yufuin/beppu/kurowaka and a 3 days Northern Kyushu JR pass to cover Kumamoto/Nagaskai/Fukuoka?
or Should I just buy the 5D Northern Kyushu pass?
Last Question : From Fukuoka hakata station to Fukuoka international airport vice versa, does any of the passes mentioned above cover this sector?

The best way to do it would be to get a Sanyo Sanin Area Pass - not the JR Pass, then a 5 day JR Northern Kyushu Pass. There is just one snag - first, the Sanyo Pass is only good for the Sanyo line in Kyushu, which ends at Hakata Stn. From there and then (April 15), or from Kokura Stn, in Kitakyushu, you can start using the JR Northern Kyushu Pass. But that leaves you with one day of travel uncovered. Fortunately Kurume is not worth a full day, so on April 19th, you could spend a day or half day in Kurume and then in the evening make it over to Fukuoka for the last day of your Kyushu Pass.
Another option since you want to go to Kurokawa which requires a bus is a Sun-Q Bus Pass:

and perhaps a 3 day JR Northern Kyushu Pass.
There is a ton of good places to see.
For Fukuoka, there are many open parks, shopping, seaside historical areas, and urban neon. See this site as a good guide:

There are also many useful videos to give you a preview:

Look into a Fukuoka Tourist City Pass also:

Be sure to try the tonkotsu ramen at least once, and see the Nanzoin Great Buddha:

In terms of history and varied points of interest, Nagasaki is really the most interesting city on the island. It is worth a couple days to see the city, and another day to see areas nearby like Shimabara/Unzen or whatever interests you. Gunkanjima, while it takes 3 hours, will blow your mind.

Be sure to see Mt. Inasa at night if the weather is clear, and try the Nagasaki chanpon and saraudon! Also the Koshibyo temple is an often overlooked shrine that is quite unique in Japan:

Beppu is famous for its hot springs, Hells Tour, plus monkey park & aquarium. See:

Kumamoto is famous for its castle, Suizenji Garden, a must-see gem.

For Kurume, be sure to see Naritasan, a hidden jewel in plain sight that few venture to see:

Lastly if you have time, Kitakyushu has a few sights of interest also. It's Kokura Castle is one of the better ones, the view from its Moji wharf and preserved buildings are quite historical, and the view from atop Sarakurayama is one of Japan's best and rarely mentioned:
