Hello! We will be staying in Tokyo in the middle of April, and would like to visit Mount Fuji or Hakone for a day trip. Could you suggest a good itinerary for us? We want to get a good view of Fuji, and maybe go to a hot springs in Hakone, or go to Fuji for a short track up the 5th station. Also, should we buy the "Hakone free pass"? Many thanks!

If you want to do a day trip from Toyo to Hakone, yes, you can buy the Hakone free pass and do the round course as outlined here: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5210.htmlIf you are lucky you might get a view of Mt. Fuji from the ropeway. If you want to go to 5th station in addition, that is not doable as a day trip from Tokyo. Please check out the travel deails. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.htmlThere are some bus tours that take you (briefly) to both locations, so if it has to be a day trip, you might consider that.
