Tokyo, Fuji and Kawaguchi stay

Hi, i want to stay 1 night at lake kawaguchi. If am from tokyo, and should i buy hakone 3 day pass? So my plan would be
1st day go to fuji and stay at kawaguchi. Tomorrow i am planning to go back to tokyo.
Is it possible if we are using hakone pass and travel by ourself in kawaguchi and get back to tokyo?
