Anyone know where I can purchase snow removal tools such as the Avalanche! or Snow Cut N Slide in Japan?

At a Home Center most likely, but I would think those are seasonal items and not available in-store during the non-snow periods. You can also try on-line.

I'm in Tohoku region, and we get tons of snow each year.
First time I see this roof snow removal tool.
Never seen/notice one in any of the home center.
And yes winter goods/tools are seasonal items, so difficult to find.

Mostly used something similar to above. And some just go up the roof and do shovelling.

Anyway found something similar to your earlier link, but it work the other way round. The snow removal tool is call 雪下ろし(Yukioroshi : snow removal) 楽ちゃん(Raku-chan : Easy does it).
