Buying Yukata year round? Yukata season? 2015/9/29 01:29
I plan to be coming to Japan next year March-May and my husband and I really want to buy Yukata for festivals! (We plan on coming back to Japan frequently, so we would like to buy our own new yukata to own.)

Can we buy Yukata during that time? During what months do you typically wear Yukata and when do you wear Kimono? I know Kimono are for colder seasons but March-May is spring and I am unsure where it falls within the Yukata/Kimono seasons!

Thank you in advance! I'd like to have a few different people who reside/have resided in Japan answer the best they can!

Typically yukata (really summer wear) is worn during July and August, when there are many festivals and fireworks. And stores start selling them in late May or June or so. (A resident in Tokyo)
