I would like to know if a person can sponsor his/her own visa ?
If yes , What are the requirements ? How long the visa is valid for ?

There are visa classes such as the entrepreneur status that are basically self sponsoring. But they require lots of capital investment and a good business plan to be sustainable. It is also technically possible to self sponsor, but that requires an existing working relationship and contracts in Japan and is not really for those who aren't already living and working in Japan.
