Pardon me Question please?
Is the permanent residence the same as your zairyu card?
Or they are 2 separate cards which are required?

Please be more precise about what you are referring to by "permanent residence". As it stands, the question doesn't make sense: permanent residence is a status, and a residence card is a document.

Thought zaiiryu card and permanent residence are two separate cards? They merged both into one?

You are confusing concepts. The zairyu card is the card itself, the rectangle made out of plastic. On the card, your status of residence and how long you are allowed to stay for are written. It could be Student, Specialist in Humanities, etc., for 1 year, 3 years, 5 years. Or it can say Permanent Resident (again, it's what's written on the card).

Yes it's same Zairyu card
If it says permanent residence then all is good As an additional point, Zairyu card for permanent resident is valid for 7 years Other status is for 5 years or shorter terms

First, I think your question is clear. zairyuu card means the resident card. In the resident card, you can find your personal information and also your current status. If you see the following: Status:Permanent Resident . It means you received the permanent residence permission to live in Japan.Congrats! In Japanese, it shows something like this: ݗi:iZ Status:Permanent Resident
Note, you should apply for the Permanent Resident to obtain it. When getting the permanent resident, you should pay 8000 Yen. If you only applied for the visa extension and you currently see that your status shows: permanent resident. This means that they most likely made a typo mistake. This sometimes happen. If you never paid 8000 Yen and got the PR, then you must notify them as soon as possible.
Just wanted to let you know that. Good luck
