Escalator at Aomori and Shin-Aomori Station 2017/4/17 23:26
Hi all,
2 years ago when I visited Aomori station, there was no elevator or escalator, or only facing one direction, to one of the exit (facing bus station/carpark/Toyoko Inn). I remembered having to lift my luggage on stairs.

Is it still on the same setup now? On JR website, looks like there are elevator and escalator, but I can't really map it well whether it's still the same setup or there's improvement.

Otherwise, what about Shin-Aomori station? Any escalator/elevator from entrance to the train platform?

Thank you.

Aomori :
No elevator/lift for public.
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/stations/e25.html
Elevator is exit but only for handicapped traveler.
(need station staff supported)

Shin-Aomori is no worry.

Thank you for the answers and confirmation on the elevator.

I did visit the JR website but wasn't very sure whether there is any escalator or only 1 escalator heading to one direction.

You can ask the station staff at Aomori to reverse the direction of the escalator if required - I've seen it done.
