I live in Zushi. I have a one year old son. I am looking to find a free, rotenburo onsen in Kanagawa. I have been to many places in Japan where a local town or city runs a free onsen outside. I am looking for one near Kanagawa. Do you know good rotenburo? Maybe hidden rotten rotenburo that requires a hike to get there? Please tell me so I can take my family to their first onsen!

I have been to many places in Japan where a local town or city runs a free onsen outside.I am a Japanese living in Kagoshima and have never heard such things. There are some free Rotenburo in the very rural area which needs some hiking such as Hirauchi Kaichu Onsen. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/•½“àŠC’†‰·ò But this is not run by local town, it's a voluntary based onsen and the donation of 100 yen is requested (to keep the onsen clean). Could you tell me where you have been for the free outside onsen run by local towns or cities?
