hi any suggestions to see around tokyo and beyond for a 5 day visit only? being tokyo as our base point since we plan to stay in tokyo only. Thanks

There are many. It depends also when you're going to Japan.
Look into using a Tokyo Wide Pass - you could save a lot.
Some places are Nikko, Kamakura/Enoshima, Yokohama, Izu, Karuizawa, Kusatsu, Hakone, the Fuji 5 Lakes area, the Hitachi Seaside Park, the Ushiku Great Buddha, the Boso Peninsula, Takao, Okutama, Mitake, and many more.
Do your research and see what you like.
