Spending money for month stay in Japan?

I've already paid for hotels, flights, tours and the 21-day JR Pass. I just need an average price of daily costs for food, attractions, shopping, etc.
At the moment I'm thinking 250,000 to 300,000 yen for the month.
Any tips / help appreciated!

I always budget for 10000 a day and spend less, Last March/April I spent 5112 Yen a day. I don't go to bars or clubs & spend some days on the bicycle when I spend almost nothing. Then again I do normally buy many, many cd's.

10000‰~ would be fairly safe for spending money; but "shopping" could be a wee bit tricky. Last visit, I spent 30000‰~ for a Japanese knife. A friend of mine spent 80000‰~ for a pair of shoes. "The decision" is yours.
