Buy Suica card in Kobe

Hi all,

I'll land in Kobe, travel to Kyoto and Osaka then back to Tokyo. Can I buy a Suica IC card in Kobe and use and recharge it in Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka then finally Tokyo? The reason I want to do this is that I don't have to worry about buying other IC card and on the last day in Tokyo I can just refund the balance :)

No. You can buy an Icoca, but then you can't return it in Tokyo.

As Firas has already said, you can't purchase a Suica in Kobe. However, if you do purchase an ICOCA, like all IC cards it will stay valid for ten years without use, so you can keep it and use it if you visit Japan again in the future.

And if at the end of your trip you have money left on the card, you can just buy something in one of the millions of shops where you can pay with IC card.
