Mall Elevator to Hotel Camelot Yokohama

We will be staying at Hotel Camelot Yokohama. We understand that there is an underground shopping mall by the Train Station West Exit that leads to the Hotel. Does anyone know if the hotel has an elevator from the underground mall level to the Hotel's Lobby or do we need to use the stairway? Thank you in advance, Harold

Thank you for checking with Google Map. Someone said that at the bottom of the stairs at the underground mall level appears to have a small elevator lobby that MAY be for the Hotel's elevator but he did not check and used the stairway. Hopefully, someone knows for sure. Thanks again, Harold

From their website, via Google Translate:
After getting off at the Joinus underground shopping mall go straight ahead as it is, arrive at our hotel if we go up the stairs at the end of the south exit at the south. ¦ If you have difficulty in using the stairs, please contact the hotel.

Since the hotel is a little ways away from the Train Station, we were worried that in the event of rain, we would opt to use the underground passage to the hotel. Then, having to lug our luggage up the stairway can be difficult. So, hopefully it does not rain. Thanks for taking the time to check their website for me. Harold

Buy an umbrella if it rains. You will use it more than once.

You can go by taxi from the west exit of Yokohama Station to Hotel Yokohama Camelot Japan, in a few minutes or so. A taxi fare is estimated at around 800 yen per car per ride. A walking route on the ground is roundabout, because the pedestrian crossing (for you to cross the road to the side of this hotel) is a little away from the west exit of Yokohama Station. Anyway, it is strongly recommended that you pack lightly. - Luggage in Japan https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2274.html

Omotenashi - Thank you very much for your suggestions. If the weather is nice, we enjoy walking new places to better know what's around where we're staying. But, of course we'll consider your suggested use of a taxi when we get there. Thanks again, Harold

Omotenashi - Thank you for taking the time to provide me with the suggested route to the hotel. We also wondering what street level route to take. We'll take a cop of the map with us. Harold

I wouldn't consider a taxi for a 400m trip. You'll still get wet walking to and from the Taxi. The hotel buildings between your hotel and the station would offer ample covers until the rain has cleared if umbrellas weren't an option.

hakata14 -Thanks for your comments. We always carry folding umbrellas for our travels. We twice ran into heavy rain in Tokyo & Kyoto and the umbrellas were of little help. It's because of this that we would opt to use the underground mall from Yokohama train station to the hotel. Then, using stairways to carry our luggage up to street level will be more difficult inasmuch as we try to pack lightly and use smaller light weight suitcases on wheels. Here, the elevator would simplify our concerns - Harold

Hello Omotenashi! I was very impressed with your directional map to the Camelot Hotel in Yokohama. With close-up, I can see that Google selected the closest route using the nearest cross-walk. For those of us who are not skilled with the computers, can you give us very detailed step by step instructions on the Google website, links, etc. that enable you to come with such a helpful map? Many of us who use this Forum for Japan travel will benefit from your skill. Thank you for being a contributor of this Forum. Harold
